KA'IULANI: A PERFUME INSPIRED BY THE LAST HAWAIIAN PRINCESS

The Last Crown Princess

Victoria Ka’iulani Cleghorn was the last crown princess of the Kingdom of Hawaii. Beautiful, charming, and highly adept at the art of diplomacy, the princess was sent to all manner of state functions to show the English and the Americans that the island nation was “civilized” and independent. After growing up in the lush gardens of her estate at Ainahau and befriending the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson, Ka’iulani was sent to prep school in England for one year – however the time dragged on to more than four years before she realized something was amiss. In 1893 she learned of the Hawaiian Queen’s overthrow and departed for America in an attempt to argue to keep Hawaii independent. This was to no avail and Hawaii was annexed as a territory to the United States. The deposed princess’ health deteriorated rapidly after the loss of her country and she died in 1899 at the age of 23.

This tropical handmade, small batch perfume pays homage to the former Hawaiian Kingdom.

None of my fragrances or balms should ever be ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals, and if you are pregnant it’s not a good idea to use essential oils. Additionally, essential/fragrance oils are very potent and can cause allergies or rashes. Always test a fragrance (mine or anyone else’s) on a small patch of skin to make sure that it won’t bother you. Ingredients are listed in each product listing, if you have a known allergy to one of the ingredients do not buy.
