Viva la Frida
Frida Kahlo was one of the greatest painters to hail from Mexico. She claimed to have been born the same year as the Mexican Revolution, she was born three years earlier but it might as well have been true as she remained a communist all her life.
When she was impaled in a bus accident in 1925, she was bedridden for a year. Her parents put a mirror above her bed and gave her an easel. During those long hours in bed she taught herself to paint by painting the subject she knew best - herself.
Frida Kahlo was long eclipsed by her husband Diego Rivera who was the more famous painter during their lifetimes. Now she is considered an icon in her own right. Her favorite perfume was Shalimar by Guerlain. This perfume was inspired by her signature scent and her colorful life.
Learn all about Frida’s life, loves, and perfume collection in our series on Storical Podcast.

None of my fragrances or balms should ever be ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals, and if you are pregnant it’s not a good idea to use essential oils. Additionally, essential/fragrance oils are very potent and can cause allergies or rashes. Always test a fragrance (mine or anyone else’s) on a small patch of skin to make sure that it won’t bother you. Ingredients are listed in each product listing, if you have a known allergy to one of the ingredients do not buy. If you have a reaction to this product, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention (if serious). Please also let me know if you have a reaction so that I may note it for my record keeping.
